July 17, 2017 -- Tans and Testimonies
Howdy Y'all!
This week has been a crazy and I wonderful one. I have now embarked on the wonderful adventure of my second transfer- not that I have gone anywhere. I am still here in Madison Florida with Sister Hulstine, and I could not be more excited about that. :)
This week has been very hot and very humid, which has resulted in some pretty hilarious tans. I have a pretty bad watch tan, which basically means I am a real missionary now! We biked this past week and we have been doing our best to talk to as many people as possible. God has blessed our efforts, and because of his grace and love we have been able to pick up six new investigators this week, including a beautiful family from the Dominican Republic. They speak mostly Spanish. So my gradual learning of a few Spanish words is increasing. I'd like to teleport my brother here to teach them, but because that is impossible, I'll just have to rely on the Lord to help me understand. We have been so blessed in this area with so much work to do. There is not a dull moment in the day, and I am so grateful to be engaged in such a great work!
Our investigator David Stanford's baptism is quickly approaching! He is so excited to become a member of the Restored Church of Jesus Christ by entering the waters of baptism. Being a part of this change in his life has been such a blessing and a great honor. The Gospel of Jesus Christ truly changes lives and brings so much happiness and joy. Seeing this becoming such a great part of his life has been life-changing for me as well, because now I can see just how much the message that I share as a missionary is vital for all of God's children here on the Earth. God sent us here to find joy- and as a missionary I get to bring that to people. How amazing is that?
Everyday we are called to change. That is why we are sent here to this Earth. I am not the same person who left on my mission two short months ago, and I will continue to change and to grow the entire time I am here. How wonderful is that? We have a Heavenly Father who knows all that we can be, and allows us to change to become more like him. I am so grateful for my Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. My testimony and knowledge of the truth of the Restored Gospel of Christ has already grown so much. I can only imagine how much it will continue to grow over the course of my mission, and the course of my life. How exciting is that?!
Talk to all of you soon! Thank you for your emails and your love, I couldn't do this without it. <3
