July 31, 2001 -- Loved Ones
I am so incredibly grateful for the comfort and strength and comes from the Lord. We have seen miracle after miracle this week, and it has been truly an honor to be a part of the work of the Lord here in Madison county.
This Saturday, July 29th, David Stanford was baptized. On Sunday, July 30th, he was confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he was given the gift of the Holy Ghost. It was all made possible through the power of the priesthood, and the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ that is once again on the Earth today! It was such an amazing experience for all involved, and the look on his face when he came out of the water was something I will not soon forget. His mother and nephew both came, and they mentioned to us about the great difference they have already seen in David. It truly is amazing the peace that the gospel brings, and I cannot believe that I was lucky enough to be a servant to my Heavenly Father, and to help bring this light into Brother Stanford's life.
Ather amazing miracle happened this week! Our recent convert from last month, James Adderley, has a daughter named JaMea and a sister named Malvise who both are now investigating the church. Malvise told us that since her brother's baptism, she has seen such a change in him. It just struck me how both her and Brother Stanford's family are able to see that difference and that change in their loved ones, because it is true. The Gospel of Jesus Christ truly does change lives. I know that because it has changed mine. Being able to see that each day is such an amazing blessing, and it makes all the hard times worth it. No matter what happens, I know that my Heavenly Father loves me and he loves all of his children here in Madison, and he is working is hardest to help the people here feel that.
One of the greatest blessings that I have seen in my mission so far is the Branch in Madison. I have never seen members so devoted to missionary work! They are willing to do anything to help us, from coming to lessons to giving us rides to towns that are hours away. I am always humbled by their testimonies and how in touch they are with the spirit. Yesterday night one of our appointments fell through, and Sister Robinson bore her testimony about how the Lord will bless and strengthen us through everything, no matter how great the trials. It is amazing how the Lord blesses and helps us every moment of every day. We are truly not forgotten by him.

I love you all so much, and I miss you every day. Keep looking for miracles. And hey, Read the Book of Mormon okay?
