October 2, 2017 -- Better Than Christmas!

Hello All!

This week has been a bit of a difficult one, but also one of the best on my mission so far! We have had some disappointments with a few of our investigators, but we are pressing forward and trusting in God, no matter how difficult that can sometimes be.

This week we have found some very interesting characters in our quest to tell everyone about Christ! We knocked on one lady's door and she told us that she had actually been born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but that we was now a witch. We had a very interesting discussion about witchcraft and her inability to find a coven that she liked enough to join. She was not very interested in hearing our message or talking about Christ, but she was very kind and took one of our pamphlets and said she would look over it.

We also met a woman whose mother was a member of the RLDS church, or the Reformed Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That is a religion that broke off from ours in the 1800s, for those who don't know. They have some of the same basic beliefs, like the Book of Mormon being the word of God, but they have some major differences as well. She didn't seem to understand the differences between our churches as we were talking to her, but we have a time set up to come and see her again this coming week, so we can't wait to see where all of that goes! Exciting things happen every day as you serve the Lord.

This week was also General Conference! For those who may not know, General Conference happens twice a year and it is a meeting in which we all get to hear from prophets and apostles of the Lord! I cannot accurately express how wonderful it was. I have never gotten so much out of General Conference in my life. The Lord truly was speaking directing to me through His servants, and I felt such love and peace as I listened to their words. If any of you weren't able to see any of the sessions, I highly recommend that you watch them. Start with a prayer and a question, and watch the miracles come. My best friend Melanie told me that General Conference on the mission is better than Christmas, and she was so right! However I haven't actually had a Christmas yet on the mission, so we will see.

Many of you know that I love heat and warm weather. A few days ago Sister Adams and I were walking out of the church building and I mentioned how much I loved the heat. She agreed and said "it feels like the sky is hugging you." As many of you also know, I love the sky. It it probably my favorite thing ever. When she said that it just struck my heart, because for me that is what the heat and the sky is! It's the Lord's way of reaching out to me and telling me that He loves me.

He loves you too you know.

We received transfer news this morning! Sister Adams and I are going to be staying here in Fox Run, and we are very excited about it! I can't wait for another month and a half serving in a place I love! Also, I have now officially served one-fourth of my mission. How incredibly terrifying is that?

That's all for now I suppose. I love you all and I miss you dearly, but there is nowhere in the world I would rather be than biking my legs off in Fox Run.

God loves you, and hey, read the Book of Mormon and pray about it okay?
