December 11, 2017 -- Snow on Palm Trees

Everyone-

It Snowed.

In Florida.

Waking up and seeing snow on the palm trees is not something I ever expected! It was the equivalent of pigs flying. The members in the ward said they can only remember that happening three other times in their lives. I would have taken a picture of it, but I somehow misplaced my camera? I am going to find it though.

Along with the weather having something impossible happen, we have seen a lot of impossible miracles this week! We has seven of our investigators come to church with us on Sunday, which is more than I have ever had on my mission so far. God truly is blessing us here in Fox Run! The Burton girls are doing amazing and getting ready for their baptism in just a little over a month. Their older sister Haley should be having a baby any moment now, so I am really excited to get to go over to their house and meet little Mason! As I missionary I am not allowed to hold any children, but I am so excited to see his little face. It is amazing that we will have the opportunity to meet a little son of God that just left His presence.

A funny story from this week happened while we were out knocking on doors. A man came to the door and talked to us for a while and seemed very interested in our message! He sent a return appointment with us and after that he told us "By the way, y'all look real nice. That is why I talked to you for as long as I did! See you later!" Then he shut his door. We laughed a little bit about it. I guess God knew what He was doing when He asked Sister Missionaries to wear skirts! However we may send the Elders to the return appointment to find out if he really is interested in our message.

We also have started teaching a part-member family, the Pedicords. Sister Pedicord was baptized when she was ten years old, but since then she has never been very active in church. Mr. Pedicord is a baptist, and they have a son named Raymond who is eight years old and so sweet! He is high-functioning autistic, and his light and energy are infectious. Sister Pedicord has a daughter named Samantha who is 14 years old from a previous marriage, and she is literally me a few years ago! She loves to act, sing, read, and bake, so we get along really well. All four of them came to church this Sunday, and Sister Pedicord and Mr. Pedicord came to the ward Christmas party this past week.

I have also been getting a little but sad, because this week is going to be Sister Adams' last week as a missionary. That means that this time next week I will have the opportunity to be with a new companion, which is exciting I guess. I just don't want her to go! She really has become my best friend. Along with that, next Monday I may have to drive to Tallahassee with her. If that is the case I might not have very much time to email. Then the next week is Christmas! I probably won't email much that day either, because I will have the chance to Skype my family. It will be good to see their faces! It has been over 7 months since I last talked to them. If you don't hear to much from me the next few weeks, that is why! I still love you all though.

That is all for this week folks! Remember how much God loves you, and how much I love you too!

Pictures:

-Every Monday we play volleyball with our ward mission leader and any investigators we can get to come. It is so much fun! We were all trying to be serious and then Elder Morgan ruined it (on the left) but that is pretty much his personality so we are okay with it. :) Elder Morgan and Elder Hirz are companions and the three on the right are the Spanish Elders. The best part of missionary work is the people you get to serve with. These guys are going to be my best friends for a long time!

- My companion is going home this week.
