February 12, 2018 -- Soccer and Yarn = Love!
Hello Favorite People!!!
This week has been much improved! I am very grateful for increased strength and health and not staying inside all day. It makes me happy. :)
We said goodbye to our old district this week. Elder Pranger and Sister Leavitt are home with their families now, which is so strange for me to think about! Especially since I hit my 9 month mark this week! That's right folks- I am halfway. I don't even know how to process that information, so I am ignoring it. :D
This week we went and did an activity with the 8-11 year old girls in the ward. We talked to them about missionary work and sharing the Gospel, and they wrote their testimonies on cards to put in the copies of the Book of Mormon that we give out. It was so fun and the girls were so excited about the opportunity to tell others about Christ. I loved seeing their happy little faces. :)
So the Spanish Speaking Elders I serve with are really wonderful and in-tune with the Spirit! They have been having a hard time with the people they are working with not being able to create meaningful relationships with members because they don't speak the language, so they decided to have a soccer game and invite all of the missionaries and the investigators in this area attend. It was amazing! We might not speak the same language, but we were able to work together and have fun and grow closer. Now they know us and smile and say hello at church, and we do the same with them! It is amazing to see that love really is a universal language. We can speak to each other through it, and that is how God speaks to us.
That is also a theme we have been noticing recently with our amazing investigator Autumn. She is one of my favorite people on this planet. She feels love for people so deeply, and she is always looking to feel and understand the love of God and Christ. For Pday today we went to her apartment and we crocheted together. Since this is not something I have ever done before, she wanted to give me a ball of yarn and a hook to work with. We were going to take pictures but forgot, sorry! I love her so so much. I can't believe how lucky I am to get to meet people like her while I serve the Lord.
That is all for this week folks! Much love from Florida! And hey- read the Book of Mormon okay?
