March 26, 2018 -- Pacing Myself
Hello Loved Ones!!
If you didn't notice the pun in the subject line, I would like to point it out to you. I am now in Pace Florida. And I am Pacing myself.
It's dumb, I know. But it is the little things in life <3
This week has been insane!! On Monday Sister Kitchen and I prepped like crazy for the new Sisters that are in Fox Run now. In the middle of all the frantic packing, we went to the beach for the last time with our crazy wonderful district and we went and got Sushi with Autumn. She took us to a memorial in Pensacola for lost and abused children. It was overlooking the water, and being there with Her and Sister Kitchen is a memory I will always treasure. Those two girls are my Sisters, no doubt about it. We are going to have some wonderful reunions after our missions are over and then again in Heaven.
On Tuesday we went out to lunch with some of the members in the ward, the Soresons. I had mentioned to them that I had never had raw oysters before and I would be interested in trying them, so they took us out to get them! They were actually pretty good once you got past the texture. The coolest part was that SISTER KITCHEN FOUND A PEARL IN HERS! Apparently that never happens! So miracles are happening all the time, even if they are as small as a pearl in your oyster.
Autumn came to see us on Tuesday night with Brother Kern and brought us some slippers that they had crocheted for us. I think Sister Kitchen and I must have hugged her a thousand times, if not more. The slippers are beautiful and I wear them all the time around my new house. Autumn also came to see us on Wednesday morning, just to say goodbye one more time. It was pretty sad, but I know I will be able to see her again soon.
The saddest part of Wednesday was saying goodbye to Sister Kitchen. I just love that girl so much. We have both grown and changed so much, and she was with me for so many important and wonderful things! Like Christmas, my birthday, four baptisms, and all the things that happened in-between. I hoped I helped her in her journey, and I KNOW she helped me in mine. There is nothing more wonderful than a companion who turns out to be one of your best friends. When she got on the transfer van and pulled away, it felt like half my heart was leaving me. It happened at the end of my training with Sister Hulstine, it happened when Sister Adams went home, and it happened again with Sister Kitchen. These women I am so blessed to work with become family, and I miss them every single day.
Now I am in PACE! I thought life would be pretty similar just going one town over, but I was very wrong. It's amazing what 14 miles can do! Pace is much more spread out than my old area was, and we have a CAR. ALL THE TIME. We drive places and I don't have to bike nearly EVER anymore! It's amazing! Another change is that the work in Pace in a little bit slow. In Fox Run we had a lot of people that we were working with. In Pace, we have on investigator. So we spent a little bit over 5 hours on Saturday knocking on doors and trying to find people to teach. I guess this is an opportunity to get much better at finding work.
I am so grateful to God for every single moment of my mission. I am grateful to be with Sister Burnham again. I am grateful to be in Pace. I just can't believe how well God conducts His orchestra. For those who might be interested, my new address is:
4468 Governors St
Pace, Florida, 32571
I love you all! I'll talk to you soon! And hey, read the Book of Mormon, okay? <3
