June 4, 2018 -- Because He Loves Us Perfectly

Hey Everyone!

This week has been full of emotional ups and one major down. To briefly mention the down, almost every person that we were working with dropped us this week. So we have no one left to teach that is progressing closer to Jesus Christ. It is a little scary, but we are going to press forward and keep working regardless! I've done this before and I will do it many more times before I am through. It just means we have the chance to find the people who are interested in the Gospel!

As this trial has come our way, the Lord has also blessed us immensely. This Sunday, Brother Tom received the priesthood and was ordained to the office of a priest. He will be able to help bless and pass the sacrament soon, and he has received the calling to teach the 8-9 year olds in the primary. He is very excited about it because he loves kids. He is slowly become the whole ward's Grandpa, not just ours! It's an incredible thing to witness. He is such a great man, and I have so much to learn from him.

I was also able to go on an exchange with Sister Renfro this week. She is such a sweet and excited person! The first thing she said when she got here was "I heard you like musical theatre. Me too!" We spent the next 24 hours belting every song we know at the top of our lungs! (Don't worry, we also did missionary work!) We were able to discuss a lot of the things that have really been weighing on my heart recently, and she really helped me to understand how God feels about my progress at this point in my mission. I often feel as though I haven't done enough, even though I've been out a year. Sister Renfro helped me to see that with Christ, whatever we give will always be enough. Not because we are perfect or because our efforts are perfect, but because He is perfect, and He loves us perfectly.

This morning we went to the beach again, and it was so fun. I love that place so much, I don't think I could ever express my joy when I'm walking on Pensacola Sand, watching the tide roll in. Maybe the reason I've stayed in this zone so long is because God knew that on my hardest days, I would need the ocean to make me feel peaceful again. Sister Shumway had never been, and we had a blast searching for shells and playing soccer and splashing eachother and everyone else with water. Elder Schermeister let us bury him in the sand, and that was really fun too. I'm so grateful for friends to share the work with. I couldn't be a missionary alone.

That's it for this week friends! Please pray that this week, we will be able to find people looking for light and hope. I love you all, and don't forget to read the Book of Mormon!
