August 20, 2018 -- Coming Full Circle

Hey Wonderful People!

This week has been so insane. We had exchanges in the Tallahassee 6th Ward, which is where I had exchanges when I was first a missionary over a year ago. It was so WEIRD to go back to that place and have memories flood my soul from that time. I was sitting in the apartment that Sister Hulstine, Sister Pau'u, Sister House, and Sister Richins and I hung out in. The strangest part of that was that out of all of those people, I am the only one who is still a missionary. Sometimes I don't think about how long I've been in Florida, and then sometimes things like this happen and my mission age slaps me right in the face.

While our campus was on break, we had the opportunity to go and do some roster work in the smaller congregations here in Tallahassee. That means that I got to go to Perry, which I used to cover when I was serving in Madison. We didn't get to go there very often, but some of my fondest memories are from that little town. We got to go there two times this week, and it was so strange/wonderful. I tried to go see a lady named Linda that we used to teach, but she wasn't home. I did get to go see a lady named Sister Lowe that Sister Hulstine and I met though! She has pretty severe dementia now, so she didn't remember me at all. But the picture of Christ that Sister Hulstine and I gave her was taped up on her wall. It was one of the most tender things I have ever seen, and I just cried. Being there again, I remembered all the hard things that happened to me when I first started, and I am so grateful that God granted me the opportunity to stay out here and to continue serving Him, even when I never thought I could.

So this past week and I have gone back to my training grounds twice, both times with the new sister that I am training. It is amazing how my mission has become a circle. I am spending the last few months of it in the same places that I started. God is really wonderful, you know that? I have been changed so much being out here, and I am excited for the last three months of change I have ahead of me. Then an entire life-time after that!

I'm going to go skating now. I bet you didn't know missionaries could do that, huh!? Until next time friends, I love you all, and hey- don't forget to read the Book of Mormon!
