August 27, 2018 -- Double Digits!

Surprise!!!

I realized on Monday that I forgot to include in my general email, or in any of my other emails, that my Pday has been switched back to Saturday! So, the regular schedule is back. I am always going to be emailing on Saturday until I get transferred or come home, whichever happens first. Which is happening sooner than you might think.

The subject line of this email comes from a realization that I came to a few days ago... I only have 96 days left on my mission as of today. That's right folks- I've hit double digits. I am, in fact, a dinosaur. I know that the tenor of my emails recently have seemed to be a focused a lot on going home... I promise I am not only thinking about that! I am also doing missionary work. I think that the surprise I feel about having fewer than 100 days left comes from a memory I have from my time with Sister Adams. I remember I told her that she had less than a hundred days and she told me to stop talking about it. I laughed at the time, but I get it now. When you devote your entire life to serving the Lord, it is incredibly difficult to realize that you don't have unlimited time to do that completely. I know I will always be a disciple of Christ, and even when I get off my mission I won't ever stop sharing the Gospel, but there really is something different about being a full-time missionary called of God to participate in the salvation of His children.

Speaking of that, today is AUTUMN HERNDON'S BIRTHDAY. I have literally only thought about her all day, so I would like to once again remind every single person who reads my emails that Autumn Herndon is the reason God called me on a mission, and that I can't wait to see her again and hug her again and sing with her again. Happy Birthday lovely! You mean the world to me. I think the honest reason that I love my mission so much is because of that wonderful human. When God sends you a literal angel to fill your life, it is hard not to be grateful.

In other news, TCC has opened again for the fall semester! Thank GOODNESS. That is why my Pday willl be consistent again. My life is no longer in constant flux and I could not thank God enough for that. It felt so good to be back where I know God needs me, sharing what I know with people who need it. We found 11 new people to teach this week, and we set a baptismal date with one of the girls we are teaching, Esmeralda! If it is God's will, she will be baptized on September 22nd. With a baptism on the 8th as well, Sister Hamblin and I certainly have our work cut out for us this semester! Esmeralda has a really cool story that I am not sure if I have shared yet. She met with missionaries in the Fall Semester of last year, but at that time she didn't really feel the need to learn more. Now, a year later, she has realized that she really is missing something in her life. She has been reading the Book of Mormon, and she loves it. She says that as long as she learns enough, she can't wait to be baptized. I love her! I am so grateful that Sister Boyce and I met her, and that Sister Hamblin and I get the privilege of teaching her. She also is randomly really good friends with a member of this ward, Steven, and so when we invited him to our lesson and then she knew him, it was a miracle! Especially since we have never invited him to come teach with us before. God really knows how to inspire His servants. That was way too amazing to be a coincidence.

Besides that, life is back to the same routine I love. Get up, get to work! Tonight we are going to get to go to the adult session of Stake Conference (which is when a bunch of congregations get together for a meeting) and the Madison Branch members might be there! Hopefully next week I will be able to give all y'all an update on any of the people from my training grounds that I got to see. Fingers crossed!

I love you all! I love my mission. If you so desire, you could start a countdown. I'm trying not to think about it too much. ;) I am excited to see you all soon, and for every single miracle between now and then. Much love wonderful humans! Sorry I don't have any pictures this week. I am the worst. And hey! Don't forget to read the Book of Mormon!
